Argus monitor terranium setup?

so my sister has an argus monitor and right now she has sand in there but she read it is not too good for them...instead we should put soil...it rained a little bit ago and the soil and grass is still wet

so i was wondering if my sister can put wet soil in for now and let it dry up later?Argus monitor terranium setup?
argus definitely like their soil a little on the sandy side. think more like 75% playsand 25% soil. the soil from your yard should be fine if there are no chemicals used in your the yard like fertilizers and pesticides.Argus monitor terranium setup?
Please please please do some more research into the lizard you/your sister owns. Start by going to where other monitor keepers frequent, like the kingsnake forums. Also read through the mampam site. As far as a diggable substrate, go to the hardware store and buy plain topsoil and playground sand, mix them 50/50 and add a useable depth to the monitor set-up (two-feet), it should be less than $15, with gardening sales on now probably less than $10.

EDIT: In addition to your household's personal use of lawn and garden chemicals you also need to be sure, before using dirt from your yard, that your neighbor's have not recently used any chemicals that might have oversprayed into your yard, there has been no run off during the rain from other yards that might have used chemicals, that your county has not sprayed recently for noxious weeds, mosquito larvae, etc, that there are no ecological issues or concerns in your region that would make it a bad idea ~ most of these are caused from mining, manufacturing and pollution/spills.
