How to locate local repossessed car auctions from banks, government and so on for free?

I am trying to find a vehicle for myself and family, and now. But my husband is on workers comp, and well now there is not many funds. How to locate local repossessed car auctions from banks, government and so on for free?
auctions are not good places to find good cars. Its a great way to get a broken car, for police auction or sheriff auction or state patrol auction, you have to call each agency you are interested in seperatly,, find out when the auction is, or get put on the mailing list, auctions may be once a year, or combined with other public, or private auctions in your local area. There is no organized listing service. The best way to get more car for your buck, is in the time tested private party method, where you keep checking the local want ads, get out and look at the car see if its a winner or a loser. it is more difficult now than ever to find decent cars, people are keeping good cars, and trying to sell the worn out old beater cars.Do not use those phony ads on tv that promise cars for 500 dollars, the listings they sell, are phone numbers for local police, and sheriffs and auctions in your area, you can find the information for free just by reasearching the internet yellow pages as I explained at the beginningHow to locate local repossessed car auctions from banks, government and so on for free?
I have bought 4 of my 10 pickups private treaty, all were known to have issues I am restoring/resurrecting 2 of them. the other 6 were all bought at a farm auction. they all started and ran for sale day, and I am knowledgeable with trucks, so they were checked out prior to sale. for 5 of them, I paid 800-1900 dollars for them 125K miled turbo diesels on two occurrences, a 57K miled diesel half ton in beautiful shape for 1875, etc. the worst buy was the separate 1 of the 10,a 2,325 dollar 3/4 ton diesel pickup bought on e-bay that wasn't as described. for the money, it wasn't a bad deal. I was mainly bent out of shape due to the condition.

the reason I got a bargain on mine is that they are manual transmission 2 wheel drive pickup trucks. most folks want a automatic trans. 4wd, but since I haul machinery for my dads farm equipment brokering business, I am on the highway, and I actually enjoy rowing my own gears. sacrificing drive ability for cost? in someones eyes, but in my eyes, I got the truck that is best suited for MY job, even though it isn't suited for others' jobs.

the point is, if you are knowledgeable with vehicles, or know someone that is, bargains can be had if you show up, check it out, and bid accordingly. don't get emotional, know when to walk away, and be willing to drive something not exactly like what you dream about, due to others sharing the desire for a certain configuration that you want, so get the Cavalier with the 5spd, since most car brokers buy the automatic ones, who knows, you may end up liking the 5speed better after all

all those "sites" are SCAMS......

GovDeals.com is only one that is actually auction site.....but won't really help u ....

ALL local auctions HAVE to by law be POSTED in ur local newspaper.......so look in the notice section of ur local newspaper.....and usually u can even do this online these days.......even if ur local newspaper makes u pay for online subscription now they still have to do the notice section for free.....

*** but on to the truth about auctions.....if they are actually any good u won't be able to get a vehicle....why?? because local used car dealerships are all over these....as are local scrap yards and such....and YES they bring enough money/have approved checks to OUTBID any private citizen.....and they do at EVERY auction i have been to.....
