is this true???, can you really get a car for a cheap price like this?, has anyone ever done business with these auctions???Are used cars from police impounds and government auctions A GOOD DEAL ????
Unless you are a mechanic yourself, and can detect problems on the spot, I don't think its a good idea.
The police or govt won't have any information to give to you about the car other than the mileage (is the engine/transmission ok, was it in flood, etc).
A better bet is eBay motors. I've bought and sold over 6 cars there.
For example, the last car I bought there was a few months ago: 1996 Ford Escort with 141K miles, paid $670 bucks. Car runs good, who could beat that price? maybe a family member, but thats it.

It depends...just keep ur cellphone...have someone at home ready on the computer...then u call them when u r at the auction and have him run the VIN's...make sure u have carfax though...they charge...I know a guy who got a 2007 Tahoe for 3 grand the only problem with it was that the backseat was gone because it was in an evidence room...i know another guy with an 02 Impala got it for 2 grand...so just use that
Any time you buy a car at auction it is buyer beware. You have no idea what the history of that car is and have no way of getting it inspected before the sale.
All of the normal steps that you would go through to make sure the car is worth investing in are absent at the auction. NO way to run a car fax report, no way to take it for a test drive, no way to have a mechanic inspect it.
Plus all auctions are cash money only. No financing available, no checks accepted.
Sure, you can get a cheap car at the auction, but it's buy at your own risk and purchase with extreme caution. There are no refunds at an auction. You bought it, it's yours even if you have to tow it home. If you have a mechanic buddy who can accompany you that is a good idea. Are used cars from police impounds and government auctions A GOOD DEAL ????
i went to buy my mustang back %26amp; watched a guy buy a very clean 88 mustang 4cyl with custom wheels for 185$ he broke the ignition %26amp; drove it home ran like a top yes great deals
Yes you can get a wikked deal from those places as most of the cars are new models. They've just been confiscated either because they were impounded and never picked up or taken away from drug dealers.I know a guy who got a Lincoln Continental...practically brand new for like 1000 bux!
the auction places are a scam but the deals are good, as long as there is good title.
