Government auctions?

I am looking for a legitimate site for government auctions. Does anyone know of any? I'm looking at bid4assets.com but I don't know what's legitimate and what's not.Government auctions?
Bid4assets.com, ( http://www.bid4assets.com/storefront/ind鈥?/a> ) is legitimate, but is under used. The bid4assets site is hard to use for the seller and buyer.

Since government surplus can be almost anything, it would be good to know what type of goods you are looking for.

Most people think of just military surplus auctions when they say government auctions. The government used to sell billions of dollars worth of surplus through this web site http://www.drms.dla.mil/sales/ . Several years back they auctioned a term contract to sell almost all the military surplus to a private company, liquidation.com won that auction. Now you have to buy that surplus through their auction site govermentliquidation.com. There are other Government auctions, some are local and state governments, and you have to check the local newspapers for information on these types of auctions. Many government agencies have auctions, like the US Forest Service or the US Post Office. You can find these kinds of auctions on the agencies web sites. There are also the law enforcement seizure type auctions, but since there are so many law enforcement agencies there are many places to find this type of auctions. You can even find some government auctions on eBay.
