What's the deal with online repo auctions?

I found a website that for $20 you get a listing of repo and government car auctions in your area...it claims to be completly legit but is it for real? Has anyone dealt with a site like this before? Are there requirements of the buyer? What's the deal with online repo auctions?
Since there are auctions taking place all over the country almost every day, it's a lot of work to find them. A directory service can save you a lot of time and work. However....if you use this approach make sure you buy from a service that has a money-back guarantee if you don't find the information useful. Here's an article with much more detail:

scam...What's the deal with online repo auctions?
It's legit. It's the same as a forclosure list. Each auction will state the terms. Some are dealer-only auctions while others are open to the public. If you are looking for a late model car, chances are you wont have access to them. The public auctions are the ones that deal with older model/high mileage units. Don't go in expecting a 2006 BMW or something like that for $1,000 no matter what the email says. That's just a hook.
it sounds laget but it could be a scam there are alot of repo auctions around so it sounds good plus if it is a scam it only sets you back $20 but it sounds real try it
