Does the Mediterranean diet help weight loss? Nutritionists' answers welcome! :)?

I heard it does. I've been trying to eat healthier this year (and shed 10-15 pounds) %26amp; I'm willing to try anything that could help me along that journey. I'm also (sort of) a vegetarian. I only eat fish occasionally--like, once every 3 months, at most.



I've heard that the diet is really heart-healthy. But also that it has a lot of salt in it. What's this contradiction?Does the Mediterranean diet help weight loss? Nutritionists' answers welcome! :)?
Actually, you don't need to diet per se to lose weight, I learned this at the web portal in the box below, they have plenty of guidance, I melted away 6 pounds by following their helpful advice.
