What are good mediterranean diet foods?

All I can really think of is artichokes, tomatoes(I think), and olives/olive oil. I know fish/lean meat is a big part of the mediterranean diet, but I don't eat meat/dairy (vegan). What are some other mediterranean foods? What are good mediterranean diet foods?
lentils, chickpeas, eggplant, rice, dates, basil, oregano, lemon and garlic to name a fewWhat are good mediterranean diet foods?
Red wine, nuts, apricots, peaches, melons, grapes, cherries, strawberries, oranges, lemons, spinach, parsley, cabbage, carrots, onions, legumes...Pretty well anything you see in the produce section. If you eat the peels or leaves of your veg, buy organic if possible. If it has a rind or peel you don't eat, non organic is fine. The biggest part of the Mediterranean diet is fresh produce, herbs and cooking with olive oil. You can make a fabulous meal with 'sides', a loaf of fresh bread and red wine and full body beer. I lived in Greece for 5 years and a vast majority of meals did not center around meat. You would feel so comfortable there. Quite a bit of very healthy people live as vegetarians and no ones bats an eye about it one way or the other.
