How can the mediterranean diet be good for people with bad hearts allows cheese?

i always thought cheese or any type of sold/fats was one of the worse things for hearts. How can the mediterranean diet be good for people with bad hearts allows cheese?
Too much cheese is bad for the heart, but the Mediterranean diet isn't just cheese.

There is a lot of garlic, vinegar, olive oil, red wine, tomatoes, lean meats and fish which are all conducive to a healthy heart.

Also, the Mediterranean diet is generally free of the growth hormones so common in Western meats that are passed on to the consumer and are, in great part, causing the epidemic of obesity in America and Europe.
