What are the benefits of mediterranean diet?

They eat lots of great food like fresh fruit, vegetables, crusty breads, fresh seafood, drizzled or cooked in olive oil (Monounsaturated fats - the good fats and also high in omega-3), and all this is washed down with a good glass of red wine.

I am of Italian descent and love love love the food. If you over indulge it can be harmful, think cheeses, processed meats like salami and prosciutto and other processed meats which are high in fat and salt.What are the benefits of mediterranean diet?
It is delicious and nutritious, and full of variety. It keeps them active and potent well into old age.
