What is the best cuisine/diet for health and weight loss? Japanese, Mediterranean, French etc..?

Not a diet like the Atkins or the South Beach. I mean the way people in a particular culture eat. Thanks!What is the best cuisine/diet for health and weight loss? Japanese, Mediterranean, French etc..?
Defiantly not mexican/spanish. I would have to guess that traditional japanese or chinese food is the best. And I'm not talking about the fast food kind like Panda Express lol!What is the best cuisine/diet for health and weight loss? Japanese, Mediterranean, French etc..?
Apply different aspects from each culture. The japanese eat a diet of mainly fish, seaweed, fresh vegetables, tofu, miso soup, green tea and sliced fruit. They (usually) never fill plates all they way, never serve portions too large, and use fresh ingredients (they live very long!). This diet is VERY healthy! From the French, you should apply the basic rule: Eat what you like to eat, with full gusto and pleasure,when you are hungry, as long as it is in moderation (this relates to the japanese too!). Mediterranean cuisine can sometimes be a bit unhealthy, but hummus, falafel (not deep-fried!), and greek salad are all very yummy!

there is no particular diet or type of food you should eat to lose weight as far as ethnic or region. its all about eating healthy period. whole grains, fresh fruit and veg, legumes. watch your calorie intake and exercise.
