Mediterranean diet questions?

Tomorrow I'm starting the mediterranean diet. If you've had success with it or know about it, I need a few questions answered:

Will I be okay just starting it tomorrow? I already eat lots of foods found in the diet, like nuts, cheese, greek yogurt, fresh fruits and veggies, and fish. Do you think it will be okay if I don't "transition" into it?

Did you lose a lot of weight on this diet? If so, how much? How long did it take? And have you been able to keep it off?

And any other tips/advice are welcome :) thanks!Mediterranean diet questions?
Why must it be "mediterranean"? A normal, balance and healthy diet will suffice, and won't require you to make any drastic transitions. Diets don't work, they're just temporary fixes. You'll put the weight back on after a while.Mediterranean diet questions?
Its best with any diet to slowly work your way into them. You don't want to put your body into shock. Start by not eating meats and work your way to not eating heavy amounts of processed cheese. Feta and Tzatziki are good.

Also introduce lentil beans, falafel and garbanzo beans into your diet. They are both full of nutrition and high in protein.

Every year, I fast for Lent and I don't eat any dairy or meat and lose about 30 pounds in the 40 days. Make sure when your done with the diet not to pig out. (Personal experience there.) Its good to take it easy and you'll be fine. It isn't about what you always eat its about how you eat.Mediterranean diet questions?
The Mediterranean Diet is not a weight loss diet it is a healthy diet. You still have to control your calories in order to lose weight.
