The Mediterranean diet is a fat-free,highly "healthy" diet that consists mainly of fresh vetegables, olive oil, fish and "white" meat.It is called Mediterranean because it forms the daily meal of the people living around the Mediterranean sea, mainly Greece.I have to leave now to eat a Greek salad.Cheers! What exactly is the Mediterranean diet?
I'm only level 1 so I cant "thumbs up" but Sweetb hit the nail on the head. I would only add that legumes + whole grain intake should be emphasized--they are a key to robust health and longevity. Fish, especially salmon and sardines, before meat, should also be emphasized, and limit pork to a few times per year.
