What kind of foods make up the Mediterranean Diet?

i'm a runner and need to eat healthy and i chose the mediterranean diet because i hear good things, but what kind of foods should i get? please be specific?

and thanks for taking the time to answer.|||Not American veggies;

Grilled meats, pita bread, hummus, Fish, and falafel.|||Best quality olive oil, extra virgin. :)

Fish high in omega 3, as well as low in fat - any white fish.

Salmon on occasion, since it is higher in fat.

Foods rich in potassium will fuel your workouts.

I prefer pineapple or apricots, pre cardio.

Subsequent to cardio, I eat protein and a bit of whole grain.

Hard cheese w hearty toast/cracker - the kind w nuts and seeds. :)

What u need is to b eating the freshest and most affordable for your budget. :)

The Mediterranean diet is based upon fresh foods - fruit, vegs, and healthy fats. :)

Xo.|||Fish, Cucumbers, yogurt,Tomatoes, Red onions, olives and olive oil, Falafel, Pita bread and my favorite. OUZO! There are plenty more foods but these are practically found in most Mediterranean dishes. Except the Ouzo- thats for drinking! Lol!|||mainly seafood, veggies, and fruit
