I recently started the mediterranean diet and im having trouble with breakfast foods, any ideas?

I have looked through many cook books but none offer any breakfast recipies or ideas!I recently started the mediterranean diet and im having trouble with breakfast foods, any ideas?
Turkey is on the Mediterranean Sea. Does that help?|||Well you could just have a trail mix of nuts and dried fruits or a smoothie of some fresh fruits for a good kick start to the day or yogurt parfait.

Here is a good recipe for a smoothie:

3-4 Strawberries

1/2 Banana

1 cup Milk/Greek Yogurt

some Crushed Ice

Honey

1tsp Whey Protein

Yogurt Parfait

Greek Yogurt

Any of the Berries(strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry)

Whole grain granola

Hope this helps!

Here is an article listing all ingredients that you can eat in a Mediterranean diet!|||I'm Southern European (Maltese) %26amp; I only have a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee (with no sugar) as breakfast. My Grandmother takes coffee and one toast (Margarine,a piece of ham, cheese),my mother takes a cup of coffee and sometimes toast etc

Alot of people from my country takes a cup of coffee or tea only as breakfast. But recently there has been many people promoting the importance of eating breakfast so things might be changing. They promote to eat cereals, fruit for breakfast.|||Yes, as everyone has noted, Bread with a cup of tea or coffee is common. Try a slice of whole wheat toast with a small amount of butter and then top it with either some honey (100% pure) or thinly sliced tomatoes. I had both for breakfast in Greece, although it was usually on melba toast. You can also have some good bread which you sprinkle with extra virgin olive oil. You can then place some thinly sliced crushed tomatoes on top or sprinkle a bit of salt. Lastly, you can depart a little and have some pita and hummus. Fruit can be added to round out the meal.

Good luck on your diet.|||many mediterranean cultures dont really eat breakfast aside from some bread and maybe a coffee or tea

the main meals are during the day, with a two or three course lunch, often starting with a soup and ending with a light dessert, dinner is usually a large shared dish eaten later, around 8-10pm

its not just the meals its how they eat them and mix them, when starting a diet like this take into consideration the lifestyles that people usually have|||Their breakfasts are pretty light, a buttered roll, slice of bread, some coffee or tea, juice and or fruit in season. If that's not enough to hold you over till your next snack or meal, amend it a bit to work. A small dish of oatmeal and some fruit would work as would some whole grain toast and either jam or peanut butter and some low fat dairy.|||Bread, olive oil, olives, jam, a little bit of spreadable cheese, coffee or tea. A heartier breakfast would have some eggs in it.|||You don't eat much for breakfast in the mediterranean countries, except some bread/toast and coffee or tea. But you can always go with fruit.
